Samuel S. Clark
M. Marsh & Son President

Sam Clark was president of M. Marsh & Son at the closing of the Wheeling, West Virginia plant.  Sam graduated from West Liberty State College, B.S. in Accounting, in 1973.  He started at M. Marsh & Son in 1974 as Assistant Office Manager.  In 1981, he was promoted to Controller.  In 1989, Sam was promoted to Vice President and in 1994, he was promoted to President.

National Cigar Corporation started working with M. Marsh & Son after John Berger & Son Company, a tobacco broker and our sister company, acquired M. Marsh in 1988.  I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Sam Clark since that time; as I started on with National Cigar in 1978.

Sam is one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable people I have ever known.  His memory is encyclopedic on the details of our particular industry and any other field or study that interests him.  Sam is one of those rare breeds from the old school, who puts loyalty, integrity, friendship and hard work first--the perfect ally and work associate.  The business that employs Sam in the near future will get a unique individual who has the capacity to take on whatever challenges are ahead of them in their business.  With a balanced sense of humor and seriousness for his work, Sam will continue to be a leader.

To Sam Clark, I say "Thanks for all you've done for M. Marsh & Son and for the quality of the effort you put into seeing that Marsh Wheeling stogies satisfied so many loyal and discerning cigar smokers.  Also, thanks for your help in seeing to it that National Cigar Corporation can continue that legacy that all the concientious workers in Wheeling, West Virginia helped maintain since 1840.  Good luck to you and to your whole excellent team of work associates."
